I remember my admiration for that moment, when my dream came true and I saw the autumn sea. The photo shows smiling people, I'm holding the phone behind the scenes and I can't help but be happy. I am surrounded by life and people rejoice. Peace, love and what I call my foundation in my life. This means that I know where I am going and who is next to me. I know where to return, I know what awaits me and that I have a home.
Last night I heard a growing noise. One day, a candle flame was extinguished on the machine as possible. I was standing by the window, my legs growing on the floor, planes flying over my house. Feeling completely confused, I look up, look out the windows of the house opposite and see a silhouette in the window above. A young girl hugs a small child and this animal fear of her, which says that she is ready to run away again, is transmitted even through distance.
I know exactly who they are, they recently came from Kharkiv when their home was gone. In normal life, a normal family: mom, dad and little daughter. Today they are called Immigrants. Apparently, we cannot fully comprehend the capacity of this word at the moment. They already know what it's like when you're under artillery fire and they know what it's like when you're driven by fear for your life and the lives of your loved ones. They know what the pain of loss is.
I'm scared to even imagine that my house is gone, and their reality is different. Unfortunately, there are more and more of them every day. I do not want to urge you to put yourself in the shoes of these people in order to realize these feelings. And I wish all of us never to feel that.
I'm talking about choice.
You can close your eyes and pretend we don't see it. You can sympathize and this is also a kind of support. And you can choose another path. The way to help. Let's build the future now. A future in which we can lay the foundation for each family to feel safe and secure. So that they can start all over again and not seek refuge abroad.
We want each of them to be able to live fully in their country. Work for its reconstruction and development. To give birth to our children here and give them an education. This is our goal.
We believe in this and we invite each of you to join our goal. Let's believe, work and create together!
